Save on your energy bill by enrolling your electric vehicle in the SMECO EV Recharge Off-Peak Savings rate.

The EV Recharge Off-Peak Savings rate is designed to reduce stress on the electricity grid at times when consumers are using the most energy, also called “on-peak” hours. SMECO is offering a lower $/kWh rate to customers who enroll their electric vehicle in Off-Peak Savings and charge their vehicles during off-peak hours when at home. This rate will only be applied to electric vehicle charging.

Summer Rate:
- On peak: $0.16569
- Off peak: $0.07442
- Summer off-peak times are weekdays after 7 p.m. and before 2 p.m.
- May 1 - September 30

Winter Rate:
- On peak: $0.15004
- Off peak: $0.07794
- Winter off-peak times are weekdays 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- October 1 - April 30

Weekends and Holidays:
- Weekends are always off-peak
- The following holidays – or the weekday they are observed if they fall on a weekend – are off-peak: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
